Leopard Comforter Should Be Fluffy For Warmth

When you’re ready to update your bedroom with a new comforter set, you can’t go wrong by evoking the great outdoors with a leopard comforter. Comforters are one of the fastest and most inexpensive ways to change the look and feel of a bedroom. A leopard print comforter works especially well to enliven a room where the walls are painted in warm neutrals, or even jungle greens.
Choosing a quality comforter requires that you look under the leopard’s spots, however. Before you buy, be sure to check on the comforter’s thread count, baffle construction and most importantly, fill power. As with sheets, thread count refers to the number of threads woven into a square inch of fabric. A higher thread count means a comforter that’s soft and durable.
Baffle construction refers to whether the comforter is sewn together with interior partitions, or “walls,” that will keep the down filling in place. Without baffling, the down inside a comforter will clump, exposing you to the cold air. Fill power is the most important of these three qualities, because it refers to how much space an ounce of down takes up. It’s a reliable measure of warmth and durability. More insulation comes from a higher fill power.
Now that you know what to look for, you can set your sights on a leopard comforter’s style. A traditional brown-black and tan leopard comforter can be coordinated nicely with neutral sheets in tan or beige. For an intense contrast, try matching your leopard comforter set with chocolate-colored sheets or a solid black bedskirt. Perhaps you’d like an exotic Snow Leopard print that’s denser at the end, like a border print fabric. Or maybe your teen-ager is just dying for a purple leopard comforter to put some punch in her bedroom.
Whatever style you choose, knowing the qualities of a good comforter will keep you warm and toasty under those spots!
